Ceiling Fans -Both Energy Efficient And Design Savvy.
Most people look at ceiling fans and think that there is not much to them. I would have to disagree. I have installed fans in every room in my house. I found that the fans bring a type of elegance to each room. They also are great energy savers. Now, any situation that can bring beauty to my home and save me money at the same time is a plus in my book.
Basically a ceiling fan is just angled blades that are attached to a electric motor. They can run clockwise or counter clockwise depending if you want to blow air down or pull air up. When the fan does this it mixes the cold and hot air creating a even climate. This in it self will cause your heating and cooling unit to work less. This in turn will be a big energy saver within your home.
In the cold season your fan will take your hot air from the top and push it down to the bottom. This will mix it with the cold air at the bottom. This in turn will keep the room at one temperature. Keeping the room temperature level will help save energy. If your heater does not have to work as hard to heat a room it will not use as much power. This will be a big help on you energy bill.
When the hot season rolls around you will find you ceiling fan still saving you that money. By taking the hot air from the ceiling and pushing to the floor will let the air mix together. This will create a cool even temperature. Your cooling unit will not have to work hard to keep the room cool which will use less energy. The more you can keep your rooms at one certain temperature the less energy your cooling unit will have to use. By taking this extra stress off your unit can also prolong the life of your ceiling fan. I know I hate having to go out and by air conditioners in the middle of the summer.
Ceiling fans are also great for bringing a beauty and elegance to your rooms. You can find ceiling fans in all different style, colors, designs, and sizes. With all the different style it is not hard at all to find one that can bring style to every room in your house. You can find them with pull strings on the fan, you can get controls that mount on the wall, you can even find them with remote controls. Ceiling fan also come with light fixtures that can help light up that room that never seems to have light.
Another great thing about ceiling fans are that they are low maintenance. All they need is just a little dusting every now and then. Now, it is important for two reasons that you dust your fans at least once a week. First when dust builds up on you blade it will kill the air that is blowing and also make the fan have to work harder. Second if to much dust gets in to the motor it can cause problems with your fan. But all you have to do is get a feather duster and go over it about once a week. This will take about five minutes and add years to the life of your ceiling fan.
Hey how about installing that fan. Not hard at all. Some come with plugs that run down your wall, others install where your light fixtures are, and there are some that have to have wires ran. If you do have to install one that does not plug in I would suggest you get someone that knows something about electricity. You will come out better in the long run if you let someone with experience do the job. You do not want to mess with that kind of voltage without know what you are doing, it can knock you on your behind before you know it. So please play it safe.
So, in conclusion we know that with ceiling fans we can bring style to our homes, and we can save money on our power bills, and also help our heating and cooling unit keep our house one comfortable temperature all year round. Sounds like a winning deal to me. So what are you waiting for? Get on up go get your fan, have someone safely install them and start enjoying the wonderful world that is ceiling fans.
